Tree Tornado
wood
Mobile, AL
2010
Using the trimmings from a lumber mill, thin pieces of wood with the bark still on, this piece does what Christopher tries to show in all his work: the intersection of mechanical and organic. Here, the sculpture takes the form of a sight he saw as a child: water spouts over the Gulf of Mexico. Built for a gallery in Mobile, AL, a place that knows about hurricanes out on the gulf.
