Driftwood Wave
14'x40'x16'
driftwood
Davenport, IA
2007
Made of driftwood collected from the Mississippi River, this piece stood outside the main entrance of the Figge Art Museum in Davenport. It was cantilevered to curl over the entryway, giving the impression of motion, and at 40 feet across, was the widest of the wave sculptures. The crest of the wave rose up gently, perfectly capturing the rolling action of ocean surf.
