aluminum bats
Atlanta, GA
2009

A baseball is made from two pieces of leather stitched together. This sculpture represents one piece, standing on end, as positive space, the second piece implied by negative space, which the viewer can walk through. This twelve foot tall sphere is made of 800 reclaimed aluminum bats welded together. Commissioned by the city of Atlanta for Southside Park.
