Tree Roof

wood
Athens, GA
2002

This piece was inspired by the relationship between truss bridges and trees. Chris found a huge fallen tree, cut up all the Y’s of the tree into ten-foot sections and then bolted them together into upside down tripods. It was finished with an upside-down rusty roof suspended by the giant walking trees. A recurrent theme in Chris' work is unsafe places which can be viewed and approached in safety.
